Saskatchewan Health Care allows every child between the ages of 0 and 17 to receive an annual complete eye examination.

Saskatchewan Health Care also covers the cost of most emergency medical eye related visits. Additionally, Saskatchewan covers the cost of all eye examinations for those with diabetes, no matter their age. This exam includes a complete examination, including the glasses prescription, as well as a dilated ocular health examination and specialized imaging. Other than the above mentioned circumstances, currently there is no coverage for routine examinations for seniors or adults.
