Jim Stewart – Licensed Optician

jimJim has been dealing with fashion eyewear since 1979. His optical experience didn’t start there, it started three years earlier at the age of 15 working part time in an optical lab after school. He became a Licensed Optician in 1983 after completing the opticians program. Jim is married and has two boys, Tyler and Zachary, and 3 step sons. He is also very actively involved in the community and is a past president of the Medicine Hat Rotary and a past director of the Chamber of Commerce. Jim is also very involved in local sports having coached baseball and ball hockey and playing slow-pitch, golf and squash.

Dr. Clark Hyde – Optometrist

clarkDr. Clark Hyde is a graduate from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. Dr. Hyde has taken a special interest in ocular disease, pediatric vision care and vision therapy among other things. Dr. Hyde is the recipient of The COVD Award of Excellence in Vision Therapy and he recognizes that perfect, comfortable vision is more than just 20/20 eyesight.

Dr. Hyde also brings experience with advancements in ocular technology and treatments. Together with the other doctors at 20/20 Vision Care, they hope to do more for the vision and ocular health of the community than ever before.

Dr. Hyde is married and has three children. If he can find spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, playing basketball and volleyball. He is a local Venturer Scout leader, and he also used to coach high school volleyball before his third child arrived.

Dr. Cory McClung – Optometrist

darker jpg-4Dr. Cory McClung is passionate about helping people maintain and monitor their ocular health and in treating ocular diseases.. He effectively combines his expertise in optometry and business to develop a well tailored eye examination for his patients.

Dr. Cory completed his business studies at the University of Alberta graduating with distinction in bachelor of commerce. In 2014 he completed his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo graduating with distinction and has since been enjoying a balanced life of helping patients and enjoying time with his wife and two children.

Dr. Michael McClung – Optometrist

michaelDr. Michael McClung has four children and 10 grandchildren. Family is his ultimate love but kayaking is his all time favorite sport. Dr. McClung graduated from Pacific University, Oregon, in 1986. He practiced in Edmonton for a short while before moving to Medicine Hat. In 1987 Dr.McClung took over the office and patient care from Dr. Robin McQuarry who first started the office in 1952. It was a small office 3 m by 13 m with one waiting room, 1 exam room, and a total of 70 frames. Dr. McClung enjoyed the slower pace and family life of Medicine Hat and was proud to call Medicine Hat home. It has been very rewarding for him to see how the office has grown and how it has helped so many people over the years. For Dr. McClung, being an optometrist has been an amazing adventure helping people and, best of all, it’s still lots of fun.
